This class meets weekly tuesdays 5-6pm and is for beginners to Intermediate students. It will be a combination Improv and Acting both for the stage and screen.
This course is designed to:
Strengthen your abilities as you become a believable actor
Learn techniques used by both stage and film actors
Gain self confidence needed both on and off the stage.
Learn improv techniques applicable in every form of acting
Work through monologues, scripts and cold readings with your instructors
Learn to audition well
Dive into characters and use your imagination to behave truthfully

Chris has been working as a professional artist and illustrator for over seventeen years.Chris is currently the Artistic Director for the Ziegfeld Comedy Loft. His thirteen years improv experience includes training from world-class improv masters Charna Halpern, James Grace, and David Razowsky.
He is the recipient of the 2015 Utah Arts Festival People's Choice Award. Additionally he has received two Del Close Awards, a City Weekly Arty Award, and was named one of Ogden’s 40 Under 40 in 2016.
Chris is a proud alumni and former adjunct professor of Southern Utah University. Additionally he has seven years teaching experience at various institutions including Weber State Continuing Ed, Moonridge Academy, and Kolob Canyon RTC.
Nick Whitaker’s film acting credits include lead singer in the Disney music video “I Will Be Around” from the Disney Channel movie, Read It and Weep as the part of Lenny Bartlett; He has been in several Disney Channel movies including: High School Musical I & III and Floyd in Disney Channel’s Hatching Pete. He starred as Colby Hatchett in Benji Off The Leash and Patrick Gill in Money or Mission. Nick played the part of the 14-17 year old Joseph Smith in the LDS Church production of Joseph Smith, Prophet of the Restoration, Luke Young in One Good Man and Cliff Elliott in The Last Eagle Scout.
Theater credits include recurring leads at Desert Star Theater, Tom Sawyer in The Big River at Sundance Summer Theater. He was active in theater productions at Weber State and was a member of Weber State’s dance team Moving Company. Other theater credits include Boy Scrooge/Peter Cratchit in Hale Center Theater West Valley’s A Christmas Carol and “He” in The Loveliest Afternoon of the Year at the One Act Play Festival at Eccles Theater.
Nick enjoys all forms of acting, singing, dancing, parkour (free running) and voice-over work including animation.
